New solo music is on the way for Eddie Vedder.

The Pearl Jam frontman shared his newest single "Long Way" on Tuesday (September 7) while announcing his new album Earthling. The track, which has drawn comparisons to Tom Petty, is produced by Andrew Watt, marking Vedder's first time working with the 2021 Grammy Award winner for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical, according to Pitchfork.

In addition to "Long Way," Vedder is teasing a soon-to-be-released song called "The Haves," which will be available on a limited edition special 7" vinyl alongside the first single. The vinyl is available for pre-order now.

The release date for Earthling has not been announced.

Earthling will be Vedder's newest solo project following 2020's Matter of Time. Last month, he also appeared on the soundtrack to Sean Penn's film Flag Day alongside Glen Hansard.

Vedder has been busy collaborating on several projects recently. He was recently announced as one of the features on Elton John's upcoming album full of collaborations and has even covered an AC/DC classic with Tom Morello and Bruce Springsteen. He also recently shared a cover of R.E.M.'s "Drive," which is featured in Flag Day.
