Metallica, Disturbed, NIN To Headline 'Welcome To Rockville' Festival

Metallica will get back onstage this fall with a series of festival appearances, including the bigger-than-ever 'Welcome to Rockville' festival in Daytona Beach, Florida, in November.

The heavy metal innovators will anchor the four-day affair with two unique headlining sets Friday and Sunday nights. Nine In Nails and Disturbed will headline Thursday and Saturday, respectively, among over 60 acts that have been announced so far.

The festival announcement comes a year after Metallica was set to anchor five major U.S. hard rock festivals produced by Danny Wimmer Presents. Plans are back on track in 2021.

After more than a year of pandemic postponements, Wimmer said in a statement that his company is looking forward to a raucous celebration of live music's return.

"I always take special pride in bringing shows to my home state of Florida, and I've never been more excited than I am this year," Wimmer said. "We're celebrating our 10th 'Welcome To Rockville' by building on the big plans that we had for 2020: Bringing Metallica for two nights, along with Disturbed, Florida heroes Lynyrd Skynyrd (with their last Northern Florida show), and so many of the bands that were going to make last year the biggest Rockville yet — and then doing one better, adding a fourth day of music led by Nine Inch Nails. Welcome To Rockville is an incredible rock and roll vacation destination, and our new home, Daytona International Speedway, located just a few miles from the beach, allows us to have more space for a bigger, better festival and camping experience."

Other major acts confirmed for 'Rockville' include Deftones, Cypress Hill, Stone Temple Pilots, Architects, Rob Zombie, Social Distortion, The Offspring, Staind, Lamb of God, Mudvayne, Mastodon and many more.
