mark messier, the ranger's captain (forever!), dedicated himself to making this a reality - today, the city council voted 48-2 (because there always has to be one person, right?) to approve turning the empty kingsbridge armory on jerome ave. into the largest indoor skating rink in nyc - 9 rinks, actually - and seating for 5,000! ice hockey in the bronx!
1) "captain fantastic" - ej
2) "skating away" - jethro tull
3) "miami 2017" - billy joel ("they blew the bronx away")

Here's something we can do NOW to help:
The Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation http://tunnel2towers.org/
Stephen was a firefighter, off-duty on 9/11/01 and playing golf at Marine Park that fateful morning. He dropped his clubs, and drove to the city to help, but the Battery was closed to traffic. So, did he stay safe and turn around? No, he dressed in gear in Brooklyn, and RAN through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center. he was helping poeple down the smokey stairs when the North Tower came down.
Thanks to his brother, Frank, he started the Stephen Siller Foundation, building homes for our returning war heroes who have been maimed and imjured in the fight for freedom. Please help. I am honroed to be on the board of this wonderful charity.
my buddy, Staten-Islander Brendan Marrocco, the first quadruple amputee soldier back from Afghanistan - we built him a great house, but Superstorm Sandy didn't like it - so we're gonna build a BETTER one!
