Maybe we should consider this one -- an election board in Ecuador has decided that jackasses cannot run for office. That's because they actually had to deny one group's attempt to put a donkey on the ballot.
More than 40 people marched through the streets of the town of Guayaquil with a donkey named Mr. Burro in tow, winding up at the Board of Elections, where they presented papers stating their intention of supporting the critter's candidacy. Mr. Burro, who even donned a tie to show the seriousness of his intentions, was turned away at the door, and his backers were told they'd have to put a two-legged ass up for the office instead.
The group claimed it was merely trying to drive home the seriousness of the election, not insult any particular party.
