Looking to get out of the city this weekend? Why not? There’s a ton to do.
Let’s cross the East River this time and head out to the north fork of Long Island. The Lion’s Club of Mattituck is hosting their 60th Annual Strawberry Festival on Route 48. And I know Shelli loves strawberries.
A little closer to the city, Bethpage’s Chamber of Commerce has their Spring Festival at the LIRR station. Food, rides, and games. Starts tomorrow evening.
The Amityville Historical Society is hosting a Heritage Fair for Flag Day on Saturday. They’ll have trolley rides, food, music, and a Civil War reenactment. Free admission.
Speaking of Flag Day, and making our way across the Hudson River, there’s Flag Day celebration at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater. Historic reenactments are happening there too. 2-6pm.
