Paul McCartney is getting new praise for his latest album, New. The disc makes the top five in "Rolling Stone's" list of the 50 Best Albums of 2013, landing at number four.

The publication says the rock legend "plays to his strengths" on the project, which includes "Wings-like glam rock" and "some remarkably Beatlesque pop tunes."

But Sir Paul isn't the only veteran rocker on the list - or in the top ten.  John Fogerty's Wrote a Song For Everyone has the number ten spot.  The set features collaborative remakes of material spanning Fogerty's catalog, and "Rolling Stone" says it shows "how vital and relevant his songwriting remains."

Others on the list include David Bowie's The Next Day, which is at number 15, and Elton John's The Diving Board, which has the number 25 spot.

Topping the rundown is Vampire Weekend's Modern Vampires of the City
