EXCLUSIVE: 9/11 Memorial President Joe Daniels Clears Up Admission Rumors
Posted April 15th, 2013 @ 8:20am

Joe Daniels, President and CEO of the National 9/11 Memorial & Museum, joined John Gambling to discuss recent comments made in a NY Post article claiming that individuals wanting to visit the 9/11 memorial are being charged a $2 fee for tickets.

“Like other similar institutions, in order to help support the operational needs of the 9/11 Memorial we have implemented a service fee, solely for advance reservations.  Visitors of course may still walk up to visit the Memorial without incurring this fee," says Daniels.

More information on visiting the 9/11 Memorial and Museum:

•    Admission to the 9/11 Memorial is free
•    The service fee is for advance reservations only
•    9/11 family members do not have to pay the service fee
•    Other similar institutions, such as Pearl Harbor, Washington Monument and others, charge service fees for advance reservations
•    The fee helps offeset the cost for providing the service. The 9/11 Memorial is a nonprofit that does not receive city, state or federal funding for operations
